About us

Digitalization is drastically changing entire industries and business models. But it’s also opening new opportunities to be explored and exploited. That’s why Porsche Digital was founded in 2016 as the technology and digital unit of Porsche AG. Our primary mission is to discover and scale new digital business models, as well as to optimize existing products. To do so, we’re creating technologically advanced industry solutions while expanding the digital ecosystem through collaboration with promising start-ups. To tap into promising business models outside the company, we draw on our global network of ten innovation centres. These are located in Ludwigsburg, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Shanghai, Beijing, Barcelona, Zagreb, Atlanta, Palo Alto in Silicon Valley and Guadalajara.

Back in January, the My Porsche App was successfully integrated into the Apple Watch, allowing you to access vehicle information, adjust climate control and lock and unlock the vehicle right from your wrist.   Now, in collaboration with our colleagues at Porsche AG and MHP – A Porsche Company, we’re happy to be releasing a further extension!   Among the additional functions, which were developed on the basis of customer feedback, are a tire pressure monitor and individual trip statistics. What’s more, the My Porsche smartphone app and its integration in Apple CarPlay® will also receive improvements. ℹ Macan 4 (WLTP): Electricity consumption combined: 21,1 – 17,9 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 0 g/km; CO₂ class: A; Status 04/2024  ℹ Taycan Turbo (WLTP): Electricity consumption combined: 20,5 – 18,0 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 0 g/km; CO₂ class: A; Status 04/2024

Our team at Porsche Digital Barcelona have the great pleasure of working at Wittywood, a beautiful office building located in the trendy 22@ district.   Wittywood is one of the first office buildings in Spain to be entirely constructed of wood, which can offer advantages in the area of environmentally friendly building. In contrast to other building materials wood can absorb CO2 from the atmosphere, therefore reducing environmental impact of emissions. The material also helps to minimize noise pollution. The building is #LEED Platinum and #WELL Platinum certified.   In a natural and peaceful work environment, our team in Barcelona sees fantastic improvements in their well-being: reduced stress, a greater sense of comfort and innovation, and an even balance between body and mind.

Over the next few months, Croatia’s biggest IT student competition is taking place – and we’re proud to be a part of it!   During the TVZ Mc2 competition, students at the Zagreb University of Applied Sciences will design and develop their own mobile apps to solve specific problems before presenting their solutions to an expert jury. At the same time, they’ll have the opportunity to work and connect with potential employers in the region.   After supporting the event last year, our colleagues at Porsche Digital Croatia are back! As an official partner of the event, the team will act as professional mentors for the students throughout the competition. They’ll take part in the integrated Career Day, as well as present Porsche Digital as a company and the available career opportunities.   For us as an employer, events like these are a wonderful chance to discover, meet and work with the next generation of tech experts, while further increasing our visibility within the student community.   We can’t wait to see the solutions the students come up with!

Over the course of three days, the students had the chance to hear from our experts about a range of different tech topics and discover the future career opportunities available to them. Danielle Garcia, Kathryn Thompson and Helen Huynh gave an insightful presentation on the topics of software engineering, product development, agile framework and data analytics. In addition, Victoria Hendricks and Scott MacCombie explained the area of security at Porsche Digital US and Porsche Cars North America. Thank you to the students for your great interest and enthusiasm!

With 11 offices around the world, we at Porsche Digital benefit from a rich and diverse network. By promoting discussion between our international colleagues, we can make the most of our connections and share invaluable knowledge with one another.   With these benefits in mind, our teams in Germany and the US recently organized a hybrid Digital Pit Stop event, during which colleagues from both countries gave presentations on the topic of personal development.   💪 Danielle Garcia and Tori Hendricks from Porsche Digital Atlanta discussed the various forms of biases in the workplace and methods to overcome these situations. ✅ Later, Claudia Schwarz highlighted the importance of finding your own definition of success and identifying your true motivators. 👪 Finally, Sarah Scherbaum from our Ludwigsburg office shared advice on how to manage parental leave without losing track of your career, emphasizing the importance of creating a supportive and inclusive work environment.   All three presentations left the teams with lots to think about and great insights to support their personal and professional lives!

Our colleagues Timon Höfer and Alice Chan launched a new student challenge by the Porsche Digital Campus in partnership with Hochschule Heilbronn - Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft und Informatik. For one semester, students will develop an app on the basis of generative AI and open-source large language models (LLMs). Supported by our experts at Porsche Digital, the students will begin with a design thinking process and, after three months of hard work, finish with the implementation of a minimum viable product (MVP).    Thank you to Prof. Dr. Mahsa F. at Heilbronn University for welcoming this initiative and for her fantastic support. We can’t wait to see the solutions that the students come up with!

Our subsidiary Porsche Digital Croatia has rapidly grown since it was established just three years ago. As the size of the company has increased, so too has the need for new People Leads.   HR Generalist Draženka Levačić and Head of Software Engineering Ivan Kocijan recently held a talk on the topic of leadership and gave insights into the company’s own Leadership Program.   How do you know that someone is ready to take on the role of a leader and the associated responsibility? What are the skills that they need in this position? And how can you be sure that this person has a leadership mindset?   The internal Leadership Program aims to answer exactly these questions. It allows the company to better evaluate expertise and provide comprehensive training and ongoing support for leaders – ultimately resulting in greater satisfaction across the entire team.

At Porsche Digital, we’re continuously exploring emerging technologies for use in future products and solutions. One particularly promising area is quantum technology. Quantum technology is still a rather academic-based field of various theories and first implementations that may one day open new doors for unseen solutions to existing challenges and world-changing technological revolutions.   Enabling us to stretch the space of hard-to-solve problems to our advantage, quantum technology helps us to find effective solutions to very complex optimization problems. It also has the potential to become the future execution stack for next-generation artificial intelligence.

In recent weeks, our colleagues at Porsche Digital Barcelona have hosted two events in partnership with MigraCode Barcelona and CodeWomen with the aim of easing the way into tech for newcomers. Not everyone has had the best possible start in the job market. Therefore, with these initiatives, we want to support society as a whole and share our knowledge.   Over the course of four weekends, volunteers from our team and MigraCode taught long-term unemployed women how to code in HTML and CSS, providing them with invaluable skills to elevate their position in the job market.   At a similar event organized in partnership with CodeWomen, the Porsche Digital team hosted another coding session, but also helped participants to improve their resumes and thoroughly prepare for the interview process.   Together with our partners, we want to support others looking to enter and progress in the world of tech, and at the same time raise awareness of the need for greater diversity of tech talent.
